1960s Sophie of Saks Fifth Avenue two piece set large | vintage lace dress and matching coat
Exquisite and rare larger 1960's dress set! Done in a black alencon lace. Dress has an illusion silk nude lining on the bodice, straight skirt with lace panel that splits at the side. Wide bell sleeves. Two back zipper, one on the nude lining and the other on the lace. Fully lined in black silk. The coat is swing style with one large button at the collar. It is fully lined in black silk.
*Sophie Original was designed by Sophie Gimbel. She worked as Saks’ in-house ready-to-wear designer. She was a top designer of her time, designing expensive, formal clothing for day and evening with a dressmaker touch. She worked at Saks from 1931 through 1969.

Condition: Very Good Vintage: a little wear on the nude lining of dress by the shoulders, very minor and not seen when worn. A few loops of the lace are loose on the shoulders and sleeves of coat, again, very minor.
