1920s silk PINTUCKED dove gray dress small medium | new fall
Chic 1920's day dress! Done in a dove gray and peach silk. The entire dress has intricate graduated pintucking all around. The raised pintucking starts out wide and then narrows on the sides. The peach section on the bodice has tiny buttons down the front. This peach dickie is attached and the outer layer of gray lays on top to create a layered look! Front inverted pleat on the skirt as well as on the sides. Sleeves have belts with mother of pearl buckles. Attached belt around the hips has a mother of pearl buckle also. Pull over style with no closures.
* Myer-Siegel was a department store in Los Angeles. Mr. Siegel married Flora Magnin (of I. Magnin fortune) and had several department stores in the area. Its Miracle Mile store at what is now known as the Dominguez-Wilshire Building, is considered a landmark by the Los Angeles Conservancy. It had many elements that were innovative at the time: air-cooled fitting rooms, aluminum furniture, exotic woods, metalwork and terrazzo floors.
Size on tag: none
Fits like: small/medium
Condition: Very Good Vintage: All cosmetic issues, and these are so very faint and really only noticeable upon close inspection: very faint age spots at the back of bodice. Darker pindot spot on the bodice in front, and a few really faint age spotting on the shoulder and inside on the peach area (this is hidden by the gray outer layer) . Pindot hole also on the peach dickie layer, but again hidden by the outer gray layer. Faint age spot on the right sleeve under arm. This is all so very minor considering the age and color of silk!
