1950s Earl Luick BEVERLY HILLS silk dress medium | new spring
Demi-couture early 1950's dress! Done in a stunning black silk taffeta that is rich and swishy. Longline style with sweetheart neckline, decorative buttons and ultra full skirt. The bodice shoulders and sleeves has the outline of the sweetheart shape done in the silk taffeta while the rest is done in the rayon. The sweetheart neckline it outlined in the rayon and ends with a bow. The skirt has horizontal panels of the rayon in between. Back metal zip. Unlined.
*Earl Luick , an accomplished designer at Fox in the 1940's. While working as an extra on the Fairbanks "Robin Hood," Luick showed some sketches to legendary designer Gilbert Adrian. The world-famous designer asked him to drop him a postcard with his phone number on it and promised to get in touch with him. Luick was surprised when Adrian called him and offered him the job of assistant costume designer on Cecil B. DeMilles's "King of Kings."
He designed many of Fox’s notable films, including Cavalcade, Black Swan, Springtime in the Rockies, and The Oxbow Incident.
